Madcap fantasy fun
Monster Land is a 48-page comedy-adventure about an apprentice witch named Glyn, who is banished to a dungeon and left to rot after failing an audition to a tyrant king. There, she forms a gang of Bright Magic monsters in an attempt to break out and save her apocalyptic fable land. According to the website the comic is a complete and self-contained story bringing you pure escapism and laugh-out-loud comedy.
The comic was co-created from two Europeans, Kevin Philpott from Cork, Ireland and Luisa Russo, a prolific Italian comic book artist. The project is currently on Kickstarter with at least 90 backers.

This is a world where evil has won. Grotesque creatures roam freely, leaving havoc in their wake, and the only people left are too stupid to be scared by them. Once a common wonder, magic is now dying, and what little remains its rulers desperately scheme and horde for themselves.
After being discovered as a powerful witch a young girl named Glyn was snatched from her family and forced to devote her life to Dark Magic. But the years under the evil witch Lucildor’s tutelage did not poison Glyn’s good nature. After displeasing a tyrant king she is banished to a dungeon and left to rot. There, she has to band together a gang of misfit monsters to start a prison break and restore her apocalyptic fable land.
It's a beautifully well-illustrated comic that's very appealing to the eye, and the plot and characters are interesting and humorous. According to the Kickstarter page, the book is 100% finished and it's an American-sized, stapled comic on 130gsm gloss paper stock with a 300gsm matt cover. The book also includes four pages of concept art, so 52 pages altogether! According to the creators, book is for all ages and completely safe to hand to children. They recommend the reading age to eight and over.
Everyone said to us it doesn't appear to be woke and highly doubt that it is.
