🧟 OPINION: Dead Space Remake is Woke

  

In space, nobody can hear you reeeeee!!! (Or so I thought.)

  It is 2023, and we have the aborted fetus of Velma and this Dead Space garbage. This makes me hate the roaring 2020s already. Listen, I am not going to make a mega-huge rant but an assertive opinion piece. This game is obviously woke, and I like to point out the changes to this so-called remake.

From Electronic Arts, Dead Space is a remake of the classic 2008 third-person sci-fi horror survival game, set in the 26th century on a mining spaceship overrun by deadly monsters called Necromorphs following the discovery of an artifact called the Marker. The player controls engineer Isaac Clarke as he navigates the spaceship and fights the Necromorphs while struggling with growing psychosis. Gameplay has Isaac exploring different areas through its narrative, solving environmental puzzles, and finding ammunition and equipment to survive.

Developed originally by Visceral Games, now by Montréal-based Motive Studio, they completely updated the graphics and visuals to take advantage of next-gen hardware. This "remake" not only changed the visuals and added accessibility features but changed more than that. Most of the cringe changes are literally to pander to game journos and the woke 1%. These changes are small but have made an impact on the game itself.

Seriously?

The Story

According to the press, Motive's senior writer, Jo Berry, writer of the mediocre Mass Effect: Andromeda, re-wrote the story for the mythical "modern audiences" and made some retcons to the canon. Why does the story need to be changed when the original is already great in the first place? This has been a trend since the late 2020s, for example, Resident Evil 4 VR and Silent Hill 2.

The Characters

A few supporting characters, Nicole and Kindra, both nice-looking women in their 30s, are now 50+ middle-aged Karens and look uglified. Why did they do this? According to Woke SJW logic, ugly is a new beauty, and modern feminists do not believe in traditional femininity that makes a woman a woman. No boobs or nice ass. They want to be masculine to be equal like a man. They also did this so male audiences can't be attracted to them. In real life, most men do not want to date women that act and look like men; this is why most of these kinds of women are single. I wonder if the Devs even know what a regular woman looks like anymore?

The gaming industry in Japan gave us gamers fine-looking waifus and the gaming industry in Western countries gave us Bruce Jenner Transformers.

They also changed the personalities of these characters. They made Kendra a lesbian, which changes nothing to the story except for pandering. To an audience that does not give a shit, both hetero or gay. They want to make sure you know they exist in this universe.

The Bathrooms

They changed the bathrooms to "All Gender Bathrooms." No Unisex or separate bathrooms. Does anyone else here remember the word "unisex?" They really made that one disappear, didn't they? Like they changed the word, Prejudice to Racist and Colored People to People of Color. 

If it's all gender, why not simply say restroom; or even better, use a toilet symbol. That way, people who play the game and don't speak English can understand it. It's annoying how it's obviously pandering. Why not just say "restroom" with a picture of a toilet?? But they gotta go the extra mile and add more to the sign, so we know they're woke too.

Because the people who care about "all-gender restrooms" are unoriginal narcissists who think that a unisex restroom has not been around for decades. They want society to use their term to make them feel validated.

According to their logic, old=evil. So the solution to every problem must be a new thing that we just thought of. Was Sarah Connor or Ripley female action heroes? Couldn’t have been; that was before me! Was Blade a black superhero? Couldn’t have been; progress only started when we began doing it!

Get what I am saying?

So summarising the defense for this, "Who cares? Who does it hurt? Why are you complaining? It doesn't matter".

This would be a very different situation if this was already implemented in the original Dead Space game. Because it wasn't in the original, as much as this is a remake, they have based it entirely on the original game; it shows that the Dev team has purposely changed such an insignificant part of a game so that they can support "The MESSAGE". And as much as people want to say that this took probably one guy to do, it still took time, energy, and money to implement something that was really 100% not necessary.

The Trigger Warning

They added a trigger warning feature for an upcoming scary scene during gameplay. That's f***g pathetic; why do you have a trigger warning when you can clearly see the game is rated M for Mature, and the title "Dead Space" is an obvious sign the game will be scary.

 I kind of see why because if you have stupid friends or family members that live with you or bypass YouTube's stupid ToS.

It's off by default, but it sounds as useful as nipples on a breastplate. Why would someone play a horror game full of blood, mutilated human corpses, jumpscares, and the ambiance of impending danger—then decide to blur out a few scenes that aren't more brutal and shocking than what happens throughout the rest of the game? Like if you don't want to get scared—just play another game. Seriously!

Dead Space: Soccer Mom Edition

It's hilarious that they carve out trigger warnings only for 0.1% of life's tragedies, and they all revolve around their political alliances and agendas. Like if your child drowned to death, I'd guess you want to avoid a movie with a drowning scene... But life sucks, sorry but your grief isn't everyone's burden to bear. Ruining things to accommodate the vocal few is just building a grievant society that may as well outright ban creative works.

'Muh Diversity!

The anti-White (specifically White male) agenda continues. 'Muh Diversity! Race-swapping for woke aesthetics for "diversity & inclusion." On the ship, there are in-game posters and signs throughout the game. On the posters, they replaced Caucasians and Asians with Africans and other brown-skinned ethnic groups. This is incredibly racist, prejudicial, and pathetic because the developers have a white guilt complex. It is uncomfortably tokenizing, out-of-place, and a cringe eye sore that will age like milk. 

Not only that, but they also removed all of the female's breasts and made them flat-chest. That is part of the modern feminist ideology. Why do you not want pretty women in video games? "To the repulsive, beauty is oppressive."

The Woke claims it is not racist or sexist to be diverse and inclusive; well, actually, it's the exact opposite.

Oh, there's more where this came from!

And people said The Great Replacement was just a "cOnSpIraCy tHeOry".

This whole thing checks out with THE MESSAGE copypasta:

• Men can never be better than women at anything. 

• If a man is portrayed as better than a woman at something, another woman must quickly be introduced to the story who is equal to or better than that man.  

• If it comes to a contest, a woman must always win against a man. Women must always be portrayed as equally combat effective as men, even if the show is supposed to be realistic and it severely detracts from the show's realism. 

• A white person can never be smarter or better at anything than a black person. 

• Women can never be portrayed as incompetent or cowardly. 

• Black people can never be portrayed as cowardly, stupid, or duplicitous. 

• A black woman who is perfect at everything must be shoehorned in somewhere, no matter how inappropriate or implausible it is. 

• If the antagonist of a story is black or female, they always must have a tragic backstory or some other justifying factor. 

• If the antagonist is a white man, he is just privileged and entitled or just plain sociopathic. 

• Under no circumstances can there ever be a white protagonist against a black antagonist.

• Male protagonists must be avoided wherever possible. If a franchise with a white male protagonist is being adapted into TV or film, he must be either race-swapped, gender-swapped, replaced by a woman, or become a supporting character to a woman, often a teenage girl. 

• Under no circumstances can a male protagonist be adapted faithfully without one or more of these changes.

• Exceptions exist of course but these rules are usually fairly strict and are hardly ever broken. If a rule is broken, they'll compensate by adhering to others more closely.

Gamers have been divided since its release, calling each other out and making accusations toward each other. One side is now noticing this game is woke while the other is defending it; most are normies and have never played the original nor cared. Most of these types are blinded by nostalgia and fancy graphics. These people are "consumers"; they really don't care about the obvious because of their ignorance. They are very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.

The developers are making these changes intentionally because they want the brownie points. If you're not constantly grandstanding or virtue signaling, how else will the rest of the world know you're such a great person?

Any changes at all signals total disrespect for the original developers. Imagine having something you created get remade by some wokies. This would have driven me insane! I’m tired of seeing old franchises getting killed by woke people who don’t know jack shit about anything. It is ridiculous!

On PC, it's possible mod this game to remove and fix the changes. However, sites like Nexus will ban you as a "bigot," as they did for the dude who made a pride flag replacer for Spiderman. I wish I were joking. These parasite-woke cultists have invaded everything from our entertainment, education, news, religion, etc. They will not stop.

They could've just made a reboot with different characters, and people would've mostly been fine with that, but no, they wanted to ruin the classic. You can still buy the original on PC digitally, yet, they will never re-release the original version on new consoles. Electronic Arts have been a shady and controversial company since its greedy downfall in the 2010s; they are the Disney of video games. Why people buy new games from them is beyond me.

Capitalist organization? Like the company they work for to make this game? "Fuck this ship" is a direct reference to arguably the game's biggest influence, Event Horizon. But adding that commie gibberish makes it no longer a reference to Event Horizon...

The best thing to do is not play this remake at all, even if you get it for free. Whatever good memories you and everyone else had of the original will be ruined. Never ever hand over money for a game or franchise adjusted or updated for a modern audience. There is no such thing as a modern audience other than 5000 shrieking penniless weirdoes on Twitter. The corporations have been led to believe the 5000 shrieking penniless weirdoes on Twitter are modern audiences due to Twitter’s outsized role on social media and their writers being locked in their Los Angeles/San Francisco/Austin/NYC hipster bubbles. They have completely lost touch with the world and what it actually is. While not just Twitter, the financial sector and tech industry at large is fully convinced this kind of "adjustment" is required in big part due to ESG, diversity, and inclusivity guidelines. Artistic vision perseverance has taken a back seat to being spinelessly politically correct.

In my opinion, don't buy this $80 garbage degenerate demake. It will be a total waste of your hard-earned cash, especially in these difficult times.

You better buy the original physical copy of Dead Space while you can before they pull a Rockstar.
