๐Ÿ“ฐ Hazbin Hotel acquired by A24

In 2020, we've mention Hazbin Hotel in our other article about the popular independently made TV show pilot. Hazbin Hotel is an American adult animated web series created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano, that is made entirely by freelance animators and is largely financed by Medrano's Patreon followers.

"Hazbin Hotel is the story of Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. She opens a hotel in hopes that patients will be "checking out" into Heaven. While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult film-star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the "Radio Demon" reaches out to Charlie to assist in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality."

But now, we have news that A24 has acquired the rights to the series, but with some consequences.

A24 is an progressive indie studio that releases third-party films and TV to the mainstream market aimed toward adults. Their library is known to have some underrated gems, but also over-hyped, overrated, dull, extremely dark, weird, cynical, or sometimes woke too. (Depends who made it.) They also publish indie games, mostly for PC.

Since, A24 owns the rights to the series, some of the core cast from the Hazbin Hotel pilot were replaced with unconfirmed alternative voice actors because they are not part of the collective Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, or SAG-AFTRA for short, a union that has absolute control over actors and their careers. If your not in this union, you'll have limited career choices.

The primary motivations for these changes have not been corroborated by the showrunner, however statements from former voice actors claim that contract issues, specifally a SAG-AFTRA television contract, may have precluded some of the actors from returning, because SAG-AFTRA are control freaks.

This has gain negative feedback from fans who loved the original voice-actors and their rememorable performances.

It to be aired on television, but information on production or any proposed release date remains to be revealed. It is most likely this will be aired on a streaming services, highly assuming Netflix, instead of traditional television.

Will this change have an impact on the show? Most likely yes.

A24 will most likely not keep the original tone of the pilot, and will either tone it down (despite being targeted toward adults) or ruin it with woke bs.

We'll never know until will see it officially.

This is the consequences of selling your creation to a company with mainstream ties. If your a creator and a company like Netflix or Amazon wants to buy your art with loads of cash. Think about about your creation and the consequences first before you think about doing such a thing.
